Dr Michael Mumford

MBBS FRACGP

Dr Michael Mumford MBBS FRACGP completed his medical studies at the University of Wollongong (UOW).

He has been practicing medicine in the Illawarra since 2011, and has special interests in minor procedures (e.g. skin excisions), teen and adolescent health, chronic disease and pain management. Prior to undertaking medicine, Dr Mumford was an engineer in the Royal Australian Army and as such he also has a keen interest in military and veteran healthcare.

Dr Mumford is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Wollongong.

Dr Laura Harnish

MScA (Occupational Health) MBBS, FRACGP, Clin Dip Pall Med

Dr Harnish is an Australian trained doctor (USyd), originally from Canada. She has trained in the Illawarra-Shoalhaven Local Health District and worked as a General Practice Registrar in Bomaderry and Shoalhaven Heads. She has completed a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine with the Shoalhaven Palliative Care Community Team and worked Illawarra Palliative Care Community Team for several years.

Dr. Harnish provides weekly review for residents at aged care facility Hammond Care Horsley and HammondCare Specialised Dementia Care Unit. Her areas of interest are Preventative health, Geriatrics and End-of-life Care.

As well as providing high quality Family Medical care, Dr Harnish is an acting Clinical Supervisor for RACGP Registrars and accredited supervisor for UoW Medical Students.

Dr Penny Mitchell

MBBS FRACGP

Dr Penny Mitchell MSSB FRACGP graduated from University of Wollongong (UOW) with Bachelor of Science with a major in Nutrition in 2007, before continuing her studies, completing medical studies in 2012.

Dr Mitchell has worked within the hospital system & private General Practice in the Illawarra for the last 10 years. Her areas of interest include children health, women’s health (including antenatal GP shared care & Implanon insertion & removal), mental health and preventative care.

Dr Jeff Wang

MD FRACGP

Dr Jeff Wang MD FRACGP grew up in Sydney and completed a Bachelor of Medicine/Medical Doctor at the University of New South Wales.

Dr Wang spent time at Concord Hospital, Canterbury Hospital and Broken Hill Hospital as a junior doctor before moving to the Illawarra to complete GP specialty training and decided to stay in the area after receiving his fellowship. Dr Wang has interests in kids health, skin cancer medicine, and preventative care.

Dr Wang has a further interest in medical education and is a Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Wollongong.

Dr Ming De TEH

Registrar

Dr Teh graduated from University of New South Wales (UNSW) and obtained his MBBS degree. He has trained in various hospitals in metropolitan Sydney including St George hospital, Sutherland hospital, Campbelltown Hospital. He also previously spent some time training at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital in Nowra. He is currently undertaking training as a GP registrar, and has interests in chronic care, preventative medicine, and geriatric medicine.

Dr Paul O’Toole

Registrar

Dr Paul O’Toole completed his medical studies at the University of Wollongong in 2023. Following a career in Intelligence and Counter Terrorism in the Australian Regular Army, Paul commenced his medical training under the Graduate Medical Scheme (Army). He is currently working towards his RACGP Fellowship.

When not at work, Paul enjoys going to the gym, travel, golf, and exploring the Illawarra-Shoalhaven region with his wife and 3 children

Dr Kirsten Way

Registrar

Dr Kirsten Way graduated from University of Wollongong in 2021 and completed her post graduate training locally within the Wollongong, Shoalhaven network. Kirsten enjoys all areas of general practice though has special interests in women’s and children’s health. Prior to studying medicine Kirsten studied psychology and worked in Child protection in Central Australia.

When not at work Kirsten enjoys spending time with her family and getting outdoors.

Dr Georgina Boots

Registrar

Dr Georgina Boots graduated from The University of Sydney in 2014, and has worked in hospitals across NSW, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and The Royal Hospital for Women. Now undertaking training in general practice, she brings her experience and clinical interest in women’s health and sexual health, but also a desire to undertake the full breadth of general practice and to treat patients of all ages.

She is passionate about food, travel, her baby and her dog.

Kimberley Sorli

Registered Nurse

Kimberley graduated in 2013 and has since gained experience across a variety of healthcare settings. Over the past three years, she has been working in general practice, where her focus has been on providing thorough, patient-centred care and supporting individuals with their ongoing health needs.

Kelly Llewellin

Registered Nurse

Kelly’s nursing career started 26 years ago and during this time she has worked as an enrolled nurse and registered nurse in different areas of the local hospitals. For the past 16 yrs she has worked primarily in General Practice.

She loves the variety of care offered in a primary health care setting.
